1+1=1

This piece carries a story close to my heart. I created it over several months in 2021, during a time when I was living in Þingvellir National Park in Iceland — a place with an energy that feels ancient, powerful, and deeply magical. As with many of my works, the vision appeared first. It kept returning to my field, asking to be brought into form, until I finally surrendered to it and began painting. I won’t unfold all of its symbolism here; this piece speaks differently to each person who encounters it, and that is part of its life. Shortly after finishing the work, I met a couple who deeply fascinated me. A day or so later, I shared this piece in my story. One of them reached out — she recognized herself, her partner, their child, and even her wider family within the image. I won’t go into details, but the recognition was immediate and moving. This became the first large alchemical artwork I sold in Iceland. My gratitude for that moment is endless. This piece holds a very special place in my heart, as a reminder of how art listens, reveals, and finds its way to where it belongs.
