Snæfellsness spirits

Spirits of Snæfellsnes is a commissioned work created in attunement with a specific area of the Snæfellsnes peninsula in Iceland — a land where layers of time, spirit, and raw nature converge. While creating this piece, I tuned into the presence of the land itself: its ancient rhythms, volcanic memory, winds, and unseen inhabitants. The work unfolded as a form of listening, allowing the spirits of the place to guide the composition, colors, and movement within the portal. This piece does not seek to represent the landscape, but to translate its essence — the quiet power, the elemental forces, and the subtle intelligence that lives beneath the surface. It carries the feeling of standing at a threshold, where earth and spirit meet. Spirits of Snæfellsnes exists as an offering to the land, and as a reminder that certain places speak — and when we listen, they reveal themselves through form.
